About the Codex reset history dataset
This page is a dataset of Codex reset announcements: every reset and banked reset grant we could verify since September 2025, one row per event.
- source
- Each row links to the public post on X by Thibault Sottiaux (@thsottiaux), who works on Codex and ChatGPT at OpenAI according to his X bio. A grant only our own monitoring accounts saw, with no post, is marked as observed. All of his posts, by day.
- what counts
- A reset is a usage-limit reset for all users that Tibo announced as done. Promises, replies to one person and partial fixes are not resets. A banked grant is a reset credit added to accounts for later use, one row per grant. A post that announced both counts as two events.
- how checked
- Each post passes our alert judgement and a manual review before it joins the archive. Times come from the post ID, exact to the second (UTC). Where possible, our monitoring accounts confirm when a reset landed.
- coverage
- From Sep 17, 2025 to today, updated live. The totals at the top of this page are the current counts.
- corrections
- Last review Oct 10, 2026: reconciled event by event against other public trackers. We added three missed resets, filed five celebration resets as resets and now count each banked grant once.
